Making the Best Wi-Fi Technology Even Better

Posted by Keith Sugawara on 2016-08-30 20:01:11

Today, most wireless modules are based on a radio vendor’s recommended reference design. However, the functionality and quality of the modules using a standard reference design is often limited. At Silex Technology, we understand that while typical consumer-oriented Wi-Fi technologies are driven by low-cost product development, short time-to-market, and rapid product improvements, this is not the case for mission-critical Wi-Fi applications. Silex Technology customers need Wi-Fi products that are designed for, and can function reliably, for long periods of time.

To ensure we bring the most reliable and durable Wi-Fi products to market, we invest heavily in making the best off-the-shelf chips available even better. With relentless attention to quality, exclusive access to Qualcomm Atheros silicon, and our expertise, Silex Technology is the trusted leader in reliable Wi-Fi connectivity.

Realizing the Dream of Ubiquitous Wi-Fi Connectivity

Posted by Keith Sugawara on 2016-05-14 00:26:18

Reliable Wi-Fi is the Holy Grail for Wi-Fi technology. As Wi-Fi finds its way into all sorts of devices, including those in consumer, medical, industrial, and manufacturing applications, billions of Wi-Fi enabled devices are now relying on robust wireless connectivity.

Despite how well established the wireless connectivity standard is, it’s frustratingly common to see reliability issues continue to crop up.

The consequences of losing Wi-Fi connectivity can have varying degrees of severity. There are plenty off-the-shelf products on the market for those “good enough” scenarios where occasional, or even frequent, loss of connection is acceptable. However, in certain markets, unstable wireless connectivity can lead to a stop in operations, loss of productivity and economic efficiency, or even significant threats of safety and health. They have a stringent set of requirements, including:

Qualcomm Atheros (QCA) Authorized Design Center (ADC) Training

Posted by Keith Sugawara on 2014-07-09 23:16:26

I had a very productive two days at Qualcomm Atheros (QCA) headquarters last month in San Jose.

We were thrilled to be invited to this event as one of 12 Authorized Design Centers (ADCs) throughout the world. Highlights from the training included:

Authorized Design Center (ADC) Status and Special Training Opportunities

There have been a number of major changes since January 2011 when it was first announced that Qualcomm was going to acquire Atheros. The good news for Silex Technology (and other ADCs) is that Qualcomm recognizes that they need a strong channel of partners to address the growing demand for Wi-Fi technology. The email invitation for the first ADC training stated:

“As Qualcomm continues to evolve the way it addresses segments and customers, this program will be instrumental in our ability to win at all tiers of customers.”
